Controller for an International Manufacturer


Senior Leadership: As an integral part of the leadership team provide timely and pertinent financial analysis, business advice, and process design/improvement. Ensure that profit is maximized from current business in a manner consistent with company culture. Add value through continuous cost and productivity improvement across the Company, providing recommendations as necessary. Update the President on all material financial matters or potential issues.


Financial Leadership: Oversee accounting practices in accordance with GAAP and adequate internal audit controls, managing A/R and A/P, general ledger functions, inventory, cost accounting, credit and collections, HR, IT, preparation of financial statements, variance analysis and payroll. Hands-on preparation of consolidated international financial statements. Closely monitor financial performance and forecasting and lead the budgeting process. Track key performance metrics to optimize each department's performance and profitability. Provide accurate and timely financial reports. Analyze cash flow requirements/projections. Develop and maintain solid relationships with outside service providers such as auditors, bankers, insurance and investment brokers, and vendors. Work with external auditors on the performance of the annual review. Assure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.


Growth Strategy: Assist the VP — Finance and leadership team on organic growth strategies. Provide necessary cash flow analysis and financial modeling for investments in R&D, sales or marketing. If growth capital is required, drive the negotiation process with financial institutions on covenants and loan agreements.


Process Improvement: Serve as a change agent, continuously challenging the company to achieve greater performance while questioning the status quo. Coach others to be analysts and thinkers who can anticipate opportunities and implement ideas for improvement in a prudent and tactful manner.


Management: Manage a team of 7 direct reports, assessing their strengths and abilities and assigning appropriate roles and responsibilities. Drive the continual development of a cohesive and productive team. Effectively interact with management across the organization.



10+ years of progressive experience in accounting/financial management with increasing responsibility. Experience in public accounting is preferred.

 Experience in international business is a plus.

 Experience with accounting systems such as Great Plains, Sage, or SAP is required.


BS degree in Accounting/Finance. A CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
